Welcome back to the MASSOLIT fiction snippet contest.
This post kicks off the new contest for this week, but first, let’s celebrate the winners from last week’s contest!
Last week’s winners
Since we are a fairly new community and didn’t have too much participation yet, EVERYONE who posted is a winner! YEAY!!!
Here are the writers in descending order based on the number of likes their snippets received:
Prisoners of War by A.P. Murphy, (short story, horror fiction), 3 likes
The Dog Park by Matthew M, (short story, cyberpunk), 3 likes
GREEN COMET CRASH by Mike Kawitzky, (short story, science fiction), 2 likes
MAGA Chronicles: The Return of the King by TheRealRajko, (political satire series), 2 likes
Do You Realize the Weight of Your Words? by Meira, (Self-Help, Personal Growth/Reflection … not really fiction, but I will still include it until we have more members and can maybe do separate contests for fiction and non-fiction), 2 likes
Thanks everyone, for sharing your writing and see you in the next contest!
Now to this week’s contest
The contest for this week is now open for submissions. To participate, post your fiction writing snippets as links to your restacked notes in the comments.
If you are new here, please read the About page of this publication, especially the “How to post your snippet” and the rules section, before commenting.
Please be civil and follow the rules. I hate to enforce them, but I will if you violate the party principles of the writers’ union!
If you're not a member of the writers' union yet, how were you even allowed to enter this exclusive club? Anyway, if you'd like to participate, I recommend signing up now.
As always, I will inaugurate the comment section with my own writing snippet, hoping to inspire each of you to reach for the highest heights of literary greatness.
Post your own snippet until April 24th here in the comment section.
Let us begin.

"The fact is, the most stubborn thing in the world," Woland continued, "and nothing can destroy it, not even the most unbelievable and most absurd lie. And that is why I have to say that what you are now witnessing, Master, is the most serious thing in the world."

"Sissi was a young princess with lustrous hair, clear soft skin, and command of a third-generation main battle tank. None of the Disney princesses had that, not even warrior chick Mulan. Suck it, Mulan!"
